I would like to refinish my table top, but since I am using it as my craft table, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to put all of that work into it just now.
I had to come up with a way to disguise the ugly, yellowed pine.
With my stash of white twill fabric I came up with this.
I started out by tracing the outside rim of the table with a piece of chalk.
I trimmed it down to one inch from the line and cut it out.
I the cut strips of fabric 9” wide, folded them in half, then started making the pleats, lots of them.
Right sides together, I pinned the pleats to the top, then ran it through my sewing machine.
Ta Da ! I think it looks perky and fresh.

Gorgeous! I love it and I would love to attempt something like that for my table, however, the pleats look like alot of work. You did a beautiful job sewing it! Lesa
This is so pretty! I have a round table with an icky laminate top which is great for kids but not pretty at all. This is the perfect solution! It looks easy enough! Thanks!
This is so stinkin' cute! I made one for my dining room table but my pleats were smaller and started down further. I'm wishing now I would have made it like this one. Oh well, there is always my breakfast room table! :)

Fabulous.Love it.I also like fitted table covers because they look fab on table instead of the covers which are longer or shorter than table.
